Urban Decay | De Slick XL

I have the oiliest skin that you can ever imagine. If I put anything with the terms "dewy, glowing, or radiant" written on the bottle on my face, I can guarantee it will be melting off my face before I even get my eyeliner on. This product is literally my savior during not just Summer months, but all year round. Sadly, I don't think Urban Decay do the XL bottles anymore, which I paid £23 for, but you can get a 118ml version for £19.50 (Thanks for that Urban Decay, not). The packaging has also been changed, but the product remains the same, which I am overjoyed about. The basis of the product is simple, spray this over your make up to set it into place, and reduce shine and sebum during the day from those pesky pores. I always forget how amazing this product is and take it for granted, and I truly notice the difference when I've forgotten to apply it in a mad rush. A one way ticket to Grease City is not attractive, especially in the middle of a bustling Topshop. The idea of spraying something wet over your face when you've just perfected your make-up is daunting I admit, but it doesn't effect anything, non-waterproof mascaras and eyeshadows included. If you are a little bit terrified, this product can be sprayed under make-up before application, but personally I find the results are no-where near as fantastic. If you are genuinely terrified of this prospect, Urban Decay have also brought out De-Slick in a tube (mattifying gel), which I will be teaming with this when I travel, for double oil resilience.
What are your solutions to oily skin, and what are your favourite beauty products for it?

  1. OMG gurl...same! I might have to run out and buy that spray. Actually sounds kinda cool! I don't like how sometimes after I put on my make-up it feels dry, ya know?

  11. I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! My skin is pretty much like a waterfall and after a long day I always come home to find my eyeliner on some other part of my face that is not eyes! I've never used Urban Decay products before so I'm a bit skeptical because I have insanely sensitive skin, did you have any problems with that at all? Great post!

    1. I don't want to tell you it's okay incase you waste your money and it's not suitable, but the best bet is just be honest with the sales assistant at the counter and they may guide you to some more alternatives. I have quite sensitive skin but I haven't had any irritations or breakouts from it, despite it having some alcohol and fragrance in x

  12. Thanks for the review - never heard of this one before. I actually think that oily skin can be changed through correcting the diet - have seen some great results with some of my clients (I'm a nutritionist by day)
