Estee Lauder | Double Wear Foundation

I originally bought this because when I was working on a hospital ward, constant running around and getting a bit flustered under the pressure, my MAC Studio Fix was giving me a make-up melt down. I love medium to full coverage foundations and after I heard this was the foundation for staying power, I was right in there! One thing I do love about this foundation is that it doesn't transfer at all, I could rub my face on my collar all day and it wouldn't budge. Obviously, as double wear suggests, the coverage is fantastic, and it does fulfill it's promise to not budge. However, you have to work with it pretty quick as it sets so fast, you have virtually have no time to blend, and it was even drying onto the back of my hand during the application process. My shade is Cool Bone, which is slightly too dark for me, but I could just about get it away with it by blending it down my neck. However, towards the end of a day, the make up oxidizes so badly and parts of my face, such as around my jawline were literally tangerine in certain light. I also think for the price of this, £27.50 it should come with a pump, because the bottle gets quite messy and stains everything in it's path.
I'm really interested in trying the Double Wear Light, has anyone found this any better?

  4. I used to love this foundation but I've moved on to a more dewy look now. For matte look this would always be my go to foundation

  6. I've heard from different sources that Estee Lauder foundation is one of the best foundations out there. I tend to have a ruddy complexion so it's a bit hard for me to find the right foundation. Problem is I don't have the extra cash to spend on $30.00 foundation. Thanks for linking that outlet site, I will definitely check it out! http://thefairandfine.blogspot.com/

  7. I use/have both this one and the double wear light and i love them! However for me I've found that for them to look good/go on nicely my skin it's better to tone and moisturise before putting them on, and mine never seems to go bad after doing that:). I have to say though that right now I think i'm finding the light double wear a lot easier/better on application xx

  8. i use this too and it does set sooo fast! it makes me face look at bit powdery because of it, not a flawless finish. does that happen to you? also i find it sinks in to my skin. the lady said it was because my skin wasnt hydrated enough =[ also you can see i wear it in all my posts!
